We are always striving to offer high quality childcare with highly qualified and knowledgeable staff. In order to do this we have created a partnership with another charitable nursery to broaden staff knowledge of how different settings work in different areas of the country. Both settings are able to visit each other and view the setting, talk to staff and committee/board members sharing good practice and ideas.

Our Setting

The setting has dedicated indoor and outdoor space within the Village Hall site in Hepworth. Indoors this enables us to have permanent displays around the free play space plus home corner, book corner and a craft area. We have a fantastic outside play area with a ‘bouncy concrete’ area for safer play, a covered area, and a garden area where the children play out in all weathers. We have splash suits and wellies for everyone. We do not play outside in fog or severe ice/snow.

All doors and gates are locked and we keep records of anyone entering and leaving the building. All staff hold a current DBS check and have all undertaken professional training in safeguarding and First Aid. All activities throughout the day, both indoors and outdoors, are subject to thorough risk assessments.

School Links
Throughout the year, and especially the term before moving on, we have visits with all the children to our local school including staying for lunch; taking part in festival activities, song time, and other special days. We also work hard with other settings that children in our care attend to ensure continuity and gain an holistic view of each child’s progress.
